吾語汝以地上之事、汝猶未信、若語汝以天上之事、又如何能信。

I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

I have spoken to you about earthly things, and you do not believe. So how will you believe if I speak about heavenly things?

If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

兄弟乎、我昔教爾、不能視爾為屬神者、惟以爾為屬肉肉或作肉體下同者、於基督道尚如孩提、我哺爾以乳、不飼爾以糧、因其時爾不能食、今仍不能、

故爾當去一切暴狠、詭譎、偽善、嫉妒、及諸毀謗、當慕純真之道、如甫生嬰兒之慕乳然、使爾由此而漸長、若爾果嘗主之仁慈、則當如是、

論及此人、或作論及此事我有多言、難以解說、因爾聽之、懵然不明故也、

我儕密言天主隱秘之智慧、於萬世以先、天主所預定以榮我者也、此智慧、斯世有權位者、無一知之、若知之、必不以榮光之主釘十字架矣、如經載云、天主為愛之者所備之事、目未見、耳未聞、人心亦未念及也、

大哉虔敬之奧妙、無人不以為然、天主假人身顯著、因神而稱義、為天使所見、被傳於異邦人、見信於天下、而升於榮光、

由天而降、依然在天之人子外、從無升天者、昔摩西舉蛇於野、人子亦必如是被舉、使凡信之者、免沈淪而得永生、蓋天主愛世、至以獨生子賜之、使凡信之者、免沈淪而得永生、且天主遣子臨世、非為罪世、乃為使世因之得救、

風任意而吹、爾聞其聲、而不知其何來何往、凡由神生者亦若是、

自上臨者、在萬有之上、由地者屬地、其言亦屬地、由天臨者、在萬有之上、彼以所見所聞者自證、而無人受其證、受其證者、即如以印印證天主為真、天主所遣者、述天主之言、蓋天主賜之聖神無限量也、父愛子、以萬物付其手、信子者有永生、不信子者不見夫生、天主之怒、恆在其上矣、

耶穌曰、我誠告爾、人非重生、不能見天主之國、

耶穌曰、我誠告爾、人非由水及聖神而生、不能進天主之國、

非我儕愛天主、乃天主愛我儕、遣其子為我儕作贖罪之祭、愛即在此也、

太初有道、道或作言下同道與天主同在、道即天主、是道、太初與天主同在、萬物以道而造、凡受造者、無一非以之而造、生命在道中、生命者人之光也、光照於暗、而暗弗識之、○有天主所遣之人、名約翰、彼來作證、即為光作證、使眾因之而信、約翰非其光、特為光作證是為真光、普照凡生於世之人者也、或作是為真光臨世普照萬人者也彼在世、世以之而造、而世不識之、彼臨屬己者、而屬己之民不受之、凡受之者、即信其名者、賜之以權、為天主之子、或作凡受之者賜之以權為天主之子即信其名者也若是者、非由血氣、非由情慾、非由人意而生、乃由天主而生、○夫道成肉軀、居於我儕間、我儕見其榮、誠如父獨生子之榮、充滿恩寵真理、
