Simon Peter said to them,“ I am going fishing.” They said to him,“ We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

“ I’m going fishing,” Simon Peter said to them.“ We’re coming with you,” they told him. They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

西門回答說：『老師，我們整夜勞苦、沒有打着甚麼，如今靠着你的話、我要把網子縋下去。』

西庇太的兒子、那跟西門作夥友的雅各約翰、也是這樣。耶穌對西門說：『別怕了，從今以後、你要活捉得人了。』他們把兩隻船攏了岸，就撇下一切，跟從耶穌。

耶穌在加利利海邊走走，看見弟兄二人，就是稱為彼得的西門、和他兄弟安得烈、撒網子在海裏；因為他們是漁夫。就對他們說：『來跟着我，我就使你們做得人的漁夫。』他們立刻撇下了網子，跟着他。

所以栽種的算不了甚麼，澆灌的也算不了甚麼，惟獨使他長大的上帝乃是一切之一切。

神言人弟子們對以利沙說：『看哪、我們在你講座之前所住的地方過於狹窄、不夠我們使用。請容我們去到約但河，各人從那裏取一根木料，在那裏造一座住所，可以在那裏居住。』以利沙說：『你們去吧。』有一個人說：『請你跟僕人一同去。』他回答說：『我要去。』於是以利沙跟他們一同去。他們到了約但河，就砍伐樹木。有一個人砍取木料的時候，斧頭掉在水裏，他就喊叫說：『哀啊，老師啊，這斧子是借的喲！』神人問說：『掉在哪裏呢？』他將那地點指給以利沙看，以利沙就砍了一根木頭，丟在那裏，叫斧頭浮上來。以利沙說：『你自己拿起來吧！』那人就伸手去拿。

你們自己原知道該怎樣效法我們；因為我們在你們中間並沒有游手好閒，也沒有白喫過甚麼人的飯，倒是辛苦勞碌、黑夜白日地作工，免得加重你們任何人的負擔。這不是說我們沒有權利，我們乃是要將自己給你們做榜樣，讓你們效法我們。

你們自己知道，我這兩隻手供應了我和我同伴的需用。

抑或是說，惟獨我和巴拿巴沒有權利不作謀生的工麼？

弟兄們，你們記得我們怎樣地辛苦勞碌：我們將上帝的福音宣傳給你們的時候、怎樣黑夜白日地作工，免得加重你們任何人的負擔。

因為他們同手藝，就和他們同住作工：以手藝說、他們是製造帳棚的。
