祂又到了加利利的迦拿，就是祂從前把水變成酒的地方。有一個大臣的兒子在迦百農患了病。

腓力去找拿但業，對他說：「我們遇見了摩西律法書和先知書記載的那位！祂是約瑟的兒子耶穌，從拿撒勒來的。」拿但業說：「拿撒勒還會出什麼好東西？」腓力說：「你來看看吧！」耶穌看見拿但業走過來，就指著他說：「看啊，這是個真正的以色列人！他心裡毫無詭詐。」拿但業問耶穌：「你怎麼會認識我？」耶穌答道：「腓力還沒有去找你之前，我就看見你在無花果樹下了。」拿但業說：「老師，你是上帝的兒子！你是以色列的王！」耶穌說：「我說看見你在無花果樹下，你就信我嗎？將來你還要看見比這更大的事。我實實在在地告訴你們，你們會看見天門敞開，上帝的天使以人子為梯上上下下。」第三天，在加利利的迦拿有人舉辦婚宴，耶穌的母親在那裡。

多馬回答說：「我的主，我的上帝！」

這是耶穌第一次行神蹟，是在加利利的迦拿行的，彰顯了祂的榮耀，門徒都信了祂。

再經義伯崙、利合、哈門、加拿直到西頓大城；

耶穌再往前走，又看見雅各和約翰兩兄弟正和父親西庇太一起在船上補漁網。耶穌呼召他們，他們馬上離開漁船，辭別父親，跟從了耶穌。

包括西庇太的兩個兒子雅各和約翰。耶穌對西門說：「不要怕，從今以後，你將成為得人的漁夫。」
