When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said,“ you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”

When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus spoke to Simon Peter. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?”“ Yes, Lord,” he answered.“ You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him,“ Feed my lambs.”

After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter replied,“ you know I love you.”“ Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.

So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. (niv)

I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord. (niv)

Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. (niv)

And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which, when translated, is Peter). (niv)

Peter asked,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” (niv)

Again Jesus said,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered,“ Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Take care of my sheep.”The third time he said to him,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep. Peter replied,“ Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.” (niv)

But Peter declared,“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same. (niv)
