When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said,“ you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”

When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus spoke to Simon Peter. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?”“ Yes, Lord,” he answered.“ You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”

After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter replied,“ you know I love you.”“ Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.

Now when they had finished breakfast, Jesus* said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Tend My lambs.”

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him,“ Feed My lambs.”

So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said to Him,“ You know that I love You.”“ Feed My lambs,” He told him.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon,[ son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these do?” He replied,“ Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus told him,“ Feed my lambs.”

So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Feed my lambs.”

We love because he first loved us.

Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.

Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

For the love of Christ compels us, since we have reached this conclusion, that one died for all, and therefore all died.And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised.

Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.

Welcome anyone who is weak in faith, but don’t argue about disputed matters.

For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

“ If you love me, you will keep my commands.And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive him because it doesn’t see him or know him. But you do know him, because he remains with you and will be in you.“ I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live too.On that day you will know that I am in my Father, you are in me, and I am in you.The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and will reveal myself to him.”Judas( not Iscariot) said to him,“ Lord, how is it you’re going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”Jesus answered,“ If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.The one who doesn’t love me will not keep my words. The word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me.

I exhort the elders among you as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory about to be revealed:Shepherd God’s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but willingly, as God would have you; not out of greed for money but eagerly;not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing.

Practice these things; be committed to them, so that your progress may be evident to all.Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Jesus said to them,“ If God were your Father, you would love me, because I came from God and I am here. For I didn’t come on my own, but he sent me.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.

The disciple, the one Jesus loved, said to Peter,“ It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tied his outer clothing around him( for he had taken it off) and plunged into the sea.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him.

This greeting is in my own hand— Paul.If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come!

For you were like sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who examines minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Therefore, strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees,and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead.

For my part, brothers and sisters, I was not able to speak to you as spiritual people but as people of the flesh, as babies in Christ.I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, since you were not yet ready for it. In fact, you are still not ready,because you are still worldly. For since there is envy and strife among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans?

Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus— the great Shepherd of the sheep— through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation,

So the weak person, the brother or sister for whom Christ died, is ruined by your knowledge.

Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.

But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.

Peter told him,“ Even if everyone falls away, I will not.”

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, who have been feeding themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed their flock?You eat the fat, wear the wool, and butcher the fattened animals, but you do not tend the flock.You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost. Instead, you have ruled them with violence and cruelty.They were scattered for lack of a shepherd; they became food for all the wild animals when they were scattered.My flock went astray on all the mountains and every high hill. My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and there was no one searching or seeking for them.“‘ Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD.As I live— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— because my flock, lacking a shepherd, has become prey and food for every wild animal, and because my shepherds do not search for my flock, and because the shepherds feed themselves rather than my flock,therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD!“‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I am against the shepherds. I will demand my flock from them and prevent them from shepherding the flock. The shepherds will no longer feed themselves, for I will rescue my flock from their mouths so that they will not be food for them.

What more can David say to you? You know your servant, Lord GOD.

The one who loves a father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; the one who loves a son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

“ See to it that you don’t despise one of these little ones, because I tell you that in heaven their angels continually view the face of my Father in heaven.

“ Come and have breakfast,” Jesus told them. None of the disciples dared ask him,“ Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord.

He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens;he brought him from tending ewes to be shepherd over his people Jacob— over Israel, his inheritance.He shepherded them with a pure heart and guided them with his skillful hands.

Jacob replied,“ My lord knows that the children are weak, and I have nursing flocks and herds. If they are driven hard for one day, the whole herd will die.

Jesus responded,“ Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.

I will establish over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will shepherd them. He will tend them himself and will be their shepherd.

Then the King will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.“‘ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in;I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.’“ Then the righteous will answer him,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or without clothes and clothe you?When did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit you?’“ And the King will answer them,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’“ Then he will also say to those on the left,‘ Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels!For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink;I was a stranger and you didn’t take me in; I was naked and you didn’t clothe me, sick and in prison and you didn’t take care of me.’“ Then they too will answer,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help you?’“ Then he will answer them,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

I will raise up shepherds over them who will tend them. They will no longer be afraid or discouraged, nor will any be missing.” This is the LORD’s declaration.

I will give you shepherds who are loyal to me, and they will shepherd you with knowledge and skill.

“ Please, LORD, remember how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly and have done what pleases you.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, he said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated“ Peter”).

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

A second time he asked him,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said to him,“ you know that I love you.”“ Shepherd my sheep,” he told him.He asked him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved that he asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”“ Feed my sheep,” Jesus said.

Peter told him,“ Even if everyone falls away because of you, I will never fall away.”

“ Even if I have to die with you,” Peter told him,“ I will never deny you,” and all the disciples said the same thing.
