So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. And they believed the Scripture and the statement Jesus had made.

Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, be killed, and rise after three days.He was openly talking about this. So Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.But turning around and looking at His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said,“ Get behind Me, Satan, because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns, but man’s!”

My strength is dried up like baked clay; my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You put me into the dust of death.

From then on Jesus began to point out to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day.Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him,“ Oh no, Lord! This will never happen to You!”

For He was teaching His disciples and telling them,“ The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after He is killed, He will rise three days later.”But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask Him.

When they had fulfilled all that had been written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and put Him in a tomb.But God raised Him from the dead,and He appeared for many days to those who came with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now His witnesses to the people.And we ourselves proclaim to you the good news of the promise that was made to our ancestors.God has fulfilled this for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second Psalm: You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.Since He raised Him from the dead, never to return to decay, He has spoken in this way, I will grant you the faithful covenant blessings made to David.Therefore He also says in another passage, You will not allow Your Holy One to see decay.For David, after serving his own generation in God’s plan, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and decayed.But the One God raised up did not decay.
