They asked her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ They have taken my Lord away,” she said,“ and I don’t know where they have put him.”

“ Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her.“ Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied,“ and I don’t know where they have put him.”

They said to her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them,“ and I don’t know where they’ve put him.”

Then they said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them,“ Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

They said to her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them,“ and I don’t know where they’ve put Him.”

They said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” Mary replied,“ They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have put him!”

Jesus* said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Thinking that He was the gardener, she* said to Him,“ Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away.”

So she* ran and* came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and* said to them,“ They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.”

And Jesus* said to her,“ What business do you have with Me, woman? My hour has not yet come.”

And He said to them,“ What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they came to a stop, looking sad.

Then Paul replied,“ What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Then Elkanah her husband would say to her,“ Hannah, why do you weep, and why do you not eat, and why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”

So when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He* said to His mother,“ Woman, behold, your son!”

Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.You heard that I said to you,‘ I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

Truly, truly I say to you that you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but your grief will be turned into joy!Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one is going to take your joy away from you.

Send out Your light and Your truth, they shall lead me; They shall bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places.Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And I will praise You on the lyre, God, my God.Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.

But because I have said these things to you, grief has filled your heart.But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.

This is what the Lord says:“ Restrain your voice from weeping And your eyes from tears; For your work will be rewarded,” declares the Lord,“ And they will return from the land of the enemy.
