They said to her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them,“ and I don’t know where they’ve put him.”

二天神謂瑪麗曰：『女子、何泣為？』對曰：『以人移去吾主、不知置諸何處。』

They asked her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ They have taken my Lord away,” she said,“ and I don’t know where they have put him.”

They said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them,“ They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”

“ Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her.“ Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied,“ and I don’t know where they have put him.”

And they* said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” She* said to them,“ Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they put Him.”

Then they said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them,“ Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

They said to her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them,“ and I don’t know where they’ve put Him.”

They said to her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” Mary replied,“ They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have put him!”

They asked her,“ Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them,“ Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”

“ Woman,” Jesus said to her,“ why are you crying? Who is it that you’re seeking?” Supposing he was the gardener, she replied,“ Sir, if you’ve carried him away, tell me where you’ve put him, and I will take him away.”

So she went running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said to them,“ They’ve taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him!”

“ What has this concern of yours to do with me, woman?” Jesus asked.“ My hour has not yet come.”

Then he asked them,“ What is this dispute that you’re having with each other as you are walking?” And they stopped walking and looked discouraged.

Then Paul replied,“ What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

“ Hannah, why are you crying?” her husband, Elkanah, would ask.“ Why won’t you eat? Why are you troubled? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing there, he said to his mother,“ Woman, here is your son.”

“ Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.You have heard me tell you,‘ I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.

Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.When a woman is in labor, she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world.So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you.

Send your light and your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling place.Then I will come to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise you with the lyre, God, my God.Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God.

Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.

a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance;

This is what the LORD says: Keep your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for the reward for your work will come— this is the LORD’s declaration— and your children will return from the enemy’s land.
