So Elisha said to her,“ What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said,“ Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”Then he said,“ Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors— empty vessels; do not gather just a few.And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son,“ Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her,“ There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.

And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying,“ Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”But Naaman became furious, and went away and said,“ Indeed, I said to myself,‘ He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said,“ We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying,“ Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. Then the Spirit said to Philip,“ Go near and overtake this chariot.”So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said,“ Do you understand what you are reading?”And he said,“ How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.The place in the Scripture which he read was this:“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth. In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”So the eunuch answered Philip and said,“ I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.Now as they went down the road, they came to some water.
