你信上帝只有一位，你信得很好；連鬼魔也信，且怕得發抖。你這虛浮的人哪，你願意知道沒有行為的信心是沒有用的嗎？

因為在基督耶穌裏，受割禮不受割禮都沒有功效，惟獨使人發出仁愛的信心才有功效。

那撒在石頭地上的，就是人聽了道，立刻歡喜領受，因心裏沒有根，不過是暫時的，一旦為道遭受患難或迫害，立刻就跌倒。

雖然如此，官長中卻有好些信他的，只因法利賽人的緣故不敢承認，恐怕被趕出會堂。這是因他們愛人給的尊榮過於愛上帝給的尊榮。
