你信神只有一位，你信的不錯；就連鬼魔也信，卻是戰兢。愚昧的人哪，你願意知道沒有行為的信心是沒有用的嗎？

因為在基督耶穌裡，受割禮或不受割禮，都沒有用處，唯有那藉著愛表達出來的信，才有用處。

照樣，那撒在石地上的，就是人聽了道，立刻歡歡喜喜地接受了；可是他們裡面沒有根，只是暫時的；一旦為道遭遇患難，受到迫害，就立刻跌倒了。

雖然這樣，官長當中也有許多人信了耶穌。但是因為法利賽人的緣故，他們不敢公開承認，免得被趕出會堂；因為他們愛來自人的榮耀，過於愛來自神的榮耀。

猶太人的逾越節近了，耶穌就上耶路撒冷去。
