So the Jews answered and said to Him,“ What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”

於是那些猶太人問耶穌說：「你做這些事，有什麼權柄的憑據給我們看呢？」

猶太人曰、爾既為此、則以何異蹟示我、

猶太人曰、爾既為此、以何異跡示我、

猶太人謂之曰、爾既為此、以何異跡示我、

而猶太人質詢之曰：『爾之為此、亦能示我以靈徵否？』

The Jews then responded to him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

Then the Jewish leaders asked him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do this?”

So the Jews said to him,“ What sign do you show us for doing these things?”

But the Jewish leaders demanded,“ What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it.”

So the Jews replied to him,“ What sign will you show us for doing these things?”

The Jews then said to Him,“ What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”

The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

So the Jews replied to Him,“ What sign of authority will You show us for doing these things?”

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

So then the Jewish leaders responded,“ What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”

The Jews therefore answered him,“ What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”

Therefore they said to Him,“ What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?

saying,“ Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”

Then they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to Him.And they said to Him,“ By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?”

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”But He answered and said to them,“ An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked,“ By what power or by what name have you done this?”

Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him.

Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.He answered and said to them,“ When it is evening you say,‘ It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’;and in the morning,‘ It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

Now it happened on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, that the chief priests and the scribes, together with the elders, confronted Himand spoke to Him, saying,“ Tell us, by what authority are You doing these things? Or who is he who gave You this authority?”

And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say,“ This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.

And they asked him, saying,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said,“ By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”
