而猶太人質詢之曰：『爾之為此、亦能示我以靈徵否？』

The Jews then responded to him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

Then the Jewish leaders asked him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do this?”

So the Jews said to him,“ What sign do you show us for doing these things?”

But the Jewish leaders demanded,“ What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it.”

So the Jews replied to him,“ What sign will you show us for doing these things?”

The Jews then said to Him,“ What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”

So the Jews answered and said to Him,“ What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”

The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

So the Jews replied to Him,“ What sign of authority will You show us for doing these things?”

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

So then the Jewish leaders responded,“ What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”

The Jews therefore answered him,“ What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”

So they asked him,“ What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? (niv)

“ We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said.“ Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” (niv)

They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him.“ By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked.“ And who gave you authority to do this?” (niv)

Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”He answered,“ A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here.The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here. (niv)

They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them:“ By what power or what name did you do this?” (niv)

The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven. (niv)

The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.He replied,“ When evening comes, you say,‘ It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’and in the morning,‘ Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away. One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him.“ Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said.“ Who gave you this authority?” (niv)

As the crowds increased, Jesus said,“ This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. (niv)

questioned him,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” (niv)
