The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

因此犹太人问他说：“你既做这些事，还显什么神迹给我们看呢？”

於是猶太人回答耶穌說：『你作這些事、能把甚麼神迹指給我們看呢？』

於是那些猶太人問耶穌說：「你做這些事，有什麼權柄的憑據給我們看呢？」

猶太人曰、爾既為此、則以何異蹟示我、

猶太人曰、爾既為此、以何異跡示我、

猶太人謂之曰、爾既為此、以何異跡示我、

而猶太人質詢之曰：『爾之為此、亦能示我以靈徵否？』

The Jews then responded to him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

Then the Jewish leaders asked him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do this?”

So the Jews said to him,“ What sign do you show us for doing these things?”

But the Jewish leaders demanded,“ What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it.”

So the Jews replied to him,“ What sign will you show us for doing these things?”

The Jews then said to Him,“ What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”

So the Jews answered and said to Him,“ What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”

So the Jews replied to Him,“ What sign of authority will You show us for doing these things?”

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

So then the Jewish leaders responded,“ What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”

The Jews therefore answered him,“ What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”

They said therefore unto him, What then doest thou for a sign, that we may see, and believe thee? what workest thou?

saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders;and they said unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? or who gave thee this authority to do these things?

Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, Teacher, we would see a sign from thee.But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet:for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.The men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah is here.The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in what name, have ye done this?

And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, trying him.

And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and trying him asked him to show them a sign from heaven.But he answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the heaven is red.And in the morning, It will be foul weather to- day: for the heaven is red and lowering. Ye know how to discern the face of the heaven; but ye cannot discern the signs of the times.An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them, and departed.

And it came to pass, on one of the days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and preaching the gospel, there came upon him the chief priests and the scribes with the elders;and they spake, saying unto him, Tell us: By what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

And when the multitudes were gathering together unto him, he began to say, This generation is an evil generation: it seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it but the sign of Jonah.

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
