He took Jesus back into the headquarters again and asked him,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus gave no answer.

又进了官邸，问耶稣：“你究竟是从哪里来的？”耶稣却不回答他。

復入督轅問耶穌曰：『汝果奚自？』耶穌不答。

and he went back inside the palace.“ Where do you come from?” he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer.

and he entered into the Prætorium again, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

He went back into the headquarters and asked Jesus,“ Where are You from?” But Jesus did not give him an answer.

And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

and he went back into the governor’s residence and said to Jesus,“ Where do you come from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

Then Pilate went back into his headquarters and called for Jesus to be brought to him.“ Are you the king of the Jews?” he asked him.

We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know where this man comes from.”“ Why, that’s very strange!” the man replied.“ He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from?

The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this:“ He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”

Jesus told them,“ These claims are valid even though I make them about myself. For I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don’t know this about me.

The woman ran and told her husband,“ A man of God appeared to me! He looked like one of God’s angels, terrifying to see. I didn’t ask where he was from, and he didn’t tell me his name.

But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent.“ Don’t you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?” Pilate demanded.But Jesus made no response to any of the charges, much to the governor’s surprise.

He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.

But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him,“ I demand in the name of the living God— tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

Then the leading priests kept accusing him of many crimes,and Pilate asked him,“ Aren’t you going to answer them? What about all these charges they are bringing against you?”But Jesus said nothing, much to Pilate’s surprise.

Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.

Pilate said,“ So you are a king?” Jesus responded,“ You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”

But I am deaf to all their threats. I am silent before them as one who cannot speak.I choose to hear nothing, and I make no reply.For I am waiting for you, O Lord. You must answer for me, O Lord my God.
