and he went back inside the palace.“ Where do you come from?” he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer.

And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

and he went back into the governor’s residence and said to Jesus,“ Where do you come from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

Pilate therefore entered again into the Prætorium, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.The man answered and said unto them, Why, herein is the marvel, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes.

Now the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth:In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: His generation who shall declare? For his life is taken from the earth.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Even if I bear witness of myself, my witness is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye know not whence I come, or whither I go.

Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of the angel of God, very terrible; and I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:

And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.Then saith Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?And he gave him no answer, not even to one word: insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

And the chief priests accused him of many things.And Pilate again asked him, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of.But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled.

and in nothing affrighted by the adversaries: which is for them an evident token of perdition, but of your salvation, and that from God;

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.For in thee, O Jehovah, do I hope: Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.
