The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

The Jewish leaders insisted,“ We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.”

The Jewish leaders replied,“ We have a law. That law says he must die. He claimed to be the Son of God.”

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God.”

The Jewish leaders replied,“ By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God.”

“ We have a law,” the Jews replied to him,“ and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and by that law He ought to die, because He made Himself out to be the Son of God!”

For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

He who blasphemes Yahweh’s name, he shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall certainly stone him. The foreigner as well as the native- born shall be put to death when he blasphemes the Name.

But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him,“ I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”Jesus said to him,“ You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying,“ He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.What do you think?” They answered,“ He is worthy of death!”

who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You blaspheme,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God?’If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said,“ Truly this man was the Son of God!”

I and the Father are one.”Therefore Jews took up stones again to stone him.Jesus answered them,“ I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”The Jews answered him,“ We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”

But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him,“ Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”Jesus said,“ I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”The high priest tore his clothes, and said,“ What further need have we of witnesses?You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.

“ He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

Jesus said to them,“ Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.”Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus was hidden, and went out of the temple, having gone through the middle of them, and so passed by.

But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”
