The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

The Jewish leaders insisted,“ We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.”

The Jewish leaders replied,“ We have a law. That law says he must die. He claimed to be the Son of God.”

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God.”

The Jewish leaders replied,“ By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God.”

“ We have a law,” the Jews replied to him,“ and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and by that law He ought to die, because He made Himself out to be the Son of God!”

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”

“ We have a law,” the Jews replied to him,“ and according to that law He must die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”

For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

And he that blasphemeth the name of Jehovah, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home- born, when he blasphemeth the name of Jehovah, shall be put to death.

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy:what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.

who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead; even Jesus Christ our Lord,

say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

And when the centurion, who stood by over against him, saw that he so gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

I and the Father are one.The Jews took up stones again to stone him.Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.And the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses?Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be worthy of death.

He saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him.He trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was born, I am.They took up stones therefore to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple.

But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.
