Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away.

Later Joseph asked Pilate for Jesus’ body. Joseph was from the town of Arimathea. He was a follower of Jesus. But he followed Jesus secretly because he was afraid of the Jewish leaders. After Pilate gave him permission, Joseph came and took the body away.

After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body.

当时，有一个名叫约瑟的人，是犹太议会中的议员，为人公义良善。这个人并没有赞同他们的计划和行为；他是犹太的亚利马太城的人，一直期待着神的国。他来到彼拉多面前，请求要耶稣的遗体。他把遗体取下来，用细麻布裹好，安放在一座岩石凿成的墓穴里，那里从来没有安放过人。那天是预备日，安息日快要到了。那些从加利利陪耶稣一起来的妇女跟在后面。她们看到了那墓穴，也看到了耶稣的遗体怎样被安放，就回去预备香料和香液。不过在安息日，她们还是按照诫命休息了。

到了傍晚，来了一个亚利马太的财主，名叫约瑟，他自己也是耶稣的门徒。他来到彼拉多面前，请求要耶稣的遗体，彼拉多就下令给他。约瑟领了耶稣的遗体，用洁白的细麻布裹好，安放在自己的新墓穴里，这墓穴是他凿在岩石里的。他又滚来一块大石头，堵住墓穴口，就离开了。茉大拉的玛丽亚和另一个玛丽亚在那里，对着坟墓坐着。

并且大多数的弟兄因着我所受的捆锁，就在主里深信不疑、无所惧怕，更加大胆地传讲这话语。

因为那天是预备日，也就是安息日的前一天，所以到了傍晚，亚利马太的约瑟来了，鼓起勇气去向彼拉多请求要耶稣的遗体。约瑟是犹太议会中一位受人尊敬的议员，他也期待着神的国。彼拉多听见耶稣已经死了就感到惊奇，于是叫来了百夫长，问他耶稣是否已经死了。他向百夫长了解情况后，就把遗体给了约瑟。于是，约瑟买了细麻布，把遗体取下来，用细麻布包好，安放在一座岩石凿成的墓穴里，又滚来一块石头，堵住墓穴口。茉大拉的玛丽亚和约西的母亲玛丽亚，都看到了安放耶稣的地方。

只是没有人公开地讲论他的事，因为怕那些犹太人。

不过甚至是首领当中也有许多信耶稣的。但是为了法利赛人的缘故，他们不敢承认，免得被赶出会堂，

他的父母说这些话，是因为怕那些犹太人。原来那些犹太人已经说好，如果有人承认耶稣是基督，就要把他赶出会堂。

对人的惧怕，会成为陷阱；依靠耶和华的，安稳在高处。
