他又把艾城的王懸在樹上，直到黃昏的時候；日落的時候，約書亞吩咐人把屍體從樹上拿下來，丟在城門口那裡，又在屍體上堆起了一大堆石頭，這堆石頭一直存到今日。

隨後，約書亞把那五個王殺死，懸在五棵樹上；他們就懸在樹上，直到晚上。到了日落的時候，約書亞吩咐人把他們從樹上取下來，丟在他們躲藏過的洞裡，把幾塊大石頭放在洞口；這些石頭一直存到今日。

義人連自己牲畜的性命也顧惜；但惡人的憐憫也是殘忍。

那時，彼拉多吩咐人把耶穌拉去鞭打。

第一天應當有聖會，甚麼勞碌的工你們都不可作。這七天你們要每天獻火祭給耶和華；第七日應當有聖會，甚麼勞碌的工你們都不可作。”耶和華對摩西說：“你要告訴以色列人，對他們說：你們到了我賜給你們的地，收割莊稼的時候，要把初熟莊稼的一捆帶到祭司那裡。他要在耶和華面前搖禾捆，在安息日的次日把它搖一搖，使你們蒙悅納。你們搖禾捆的時候，要把一隻一歲、沒有瑕疵的公綿羊作燔祭獻給耶和華。同獻的素祭，是調油的細麵兩公斤，獻給耶和華作馨香的火祭；同獻的奠祭，是一公斤酒。無論是餅，是烘過的穀粒，或是新穗子，你們都不可吃，直等到你們把神的供物帶來的那天，才可以吃；這要在你們的一切住處，作世世代代永遠的律例。“你們要從安息日的次日，把禾捆帶來作搖祭那日起，計算整整七個星期；到第七個星期的次日，共計五十天；那天你們要獻新的素祭給耶和華。

第一日你們要有聖會，第七日你們也要有聖會；這兩日之內，除了預備各人所要吃的以外，一切工作都不可作。

你們吃我民的肉，剝他們的皮，打斷他們的骨頭，切成像鍋裡的塊，像釜中的肉塊。

第二天，就是過了“預備日”的那一天，祭司長和法利賽人去見彼拉多，說：
