隨後約書亞將這五個王殺死，把屍體分別掛在五棵樹上，直到傍晚。日落時，約書亞才下令把屍體放下，丟在他們先前躲藏的山洞裡，用大石頭堵住洞口，石頭至今還在那裡。

義人顧惜自己的牲畜，惡人的憐憫也是殘忍。

於是彼拉多命人鞭打耶穌。

在節期的第一天和第七天，你們都要招聚百姓舉行聖會。這兩天所有人都不得工作，除了預備各人要吃的以外，不可做任何工。

你們吃我百姓的肉，剝我百姓的皮，打碎他們的骨頭，把他們切成塊，如同下在鍋裡、放進釜中的肉。

第二天，就是預備日之後的那天，祭司長和法利賽人一起來見彼拉多，說：
