older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. (niv)

He replied to him,“ Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”Pointing to his disciples, he said,“ Here are my mother and my brothers.For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (niv)

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: (niv)

Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said,“ Here are my mother and my brothers! (niv)

“ So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt. (niv)

“ The King will reply,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (niv)
