They set up over his head the accusation against him written,“ THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me.

They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross.They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted,“ The place of a skull.”They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn’t take it.

An inscription was also written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:“ THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him,“ One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”

The superscription of his accusation was written over him,“ THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

He said to all,“ If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

“ Bring him who cursed out of the camp; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

When they had mocked him, they took the robe off him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.When they came to a place called“ Golgotha”, that is to say,“ The place of a skull,”they gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.

The two men, the wicked fellows, came in and sat before him. The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.

Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.
