And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Then Jesus said to His disciples,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”So, as the Lord commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.

Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear His cross.And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull.Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it.

And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him,“ One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

And the inscription of His accusation was written above: THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

“ Take outside the camp him who has cursed; then let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull,they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.

And two men, scoundrels, came in and sat before him; and the scoundrels witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth has blasphemed God and the king!” Then they took him outside the city and stoned him with stones, so that he died.

Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.
