Jesus answered,“ You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.”

Jesus answered,“ You were given power from heaven. If you weren’t, you would have no power over me. So the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.”

Jesus answered him,“ You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”

Then Jesus said,“ You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. So the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.”

“ You would have no authority over me at all,” Jesus answered him,“ if it hadn’t been given you from above. This is why the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.”

Jesus answered him,“ You would have no authority over Me at all, if it had not been given to you from above; for this reason the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.”

Jesus answered,“ You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”

Jesus answered him, Thou wouldest have no power against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath greater sin.

“ You would have no authority over Me at all,” Jesus answered him,“ if it hadn’t been given you from above. This is why the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.”

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (niv)

To this John replied,“ A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. (niv)

With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him.All nations will serve him and his son and his grandson until the time for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate him.“‘“ If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand. They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. (niv)

For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming ageand who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. (niv)

Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.So Pilate came out to them and asked,“ What charges are you bringing against this man?”“ If he were not a criminal,” they replied,“ we would not have handed him over to you.”Pilate said,“ Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”“ But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected.This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die. Jesus said,“ If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains. (niv)

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.Whoever hates me hates my Father as well.If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. (niv)

“ Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?” (niv)

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. (niv)

Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour— when darkness reigns.” (niv)

or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth.But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. (niv)

Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them:“ The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.” (niv)

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said,“ He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. (niv)
