眾齊聲呼曰：『勿釋斯人、請釋巴辣巴！』巴辣巴者、盜匪也。

They shouted back,“ No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.

They shouted back,“ No! Not him! Give us Barabbas!” Barabbas had taken part in an armed struggle against the country’s rulers.

They cried out again,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.

But they shouted back,“ No! Not this man. We want Barabbas!”( Barabbas was a revolutionary.)

They shouted back,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.

So they shouted again, saying,“ Not this Man, but Barabbas.” Now Barabbas was a rebel.

Then they all cried again, saying,“ Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.

They cried out therefore again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

They shouted back,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.

Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

Then they shouted back,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!”( Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.)

Then they all shouted again, saying,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.

But the whole crowd shouted,“ Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”( Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.) (niv)

At that time they had a well- known prisoner whose name was Jesus Barabbas. (niv)

A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising. (niv)

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. (niv)

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. (niv)

Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. (niv)

He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will. (niv)
