比辣多應曰：『何謂真理？』言竟復出、而告猶太人曰：『吾未見其罪也。

“ What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said,“ I find no basis for a charge against him.

Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find no crime in him.

“ What is truth?” said Pilate. After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them,“ I find no grounds for charging Him.

Pilate then went out again, and said to them,“ Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.”

Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying,“ Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them,“ You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd,“ I find no fault in this Man.”

“ Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying,“ I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”

but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying,“ Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”

Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered,“ Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”Meanwhile he also hoped that money would be given him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore he sent for him more often and conversed with him.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said,“ We will hear you again on this matter.”

Then Pilate said to them,“ Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more,“ Crucify Him!”

And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying,“ May we know what this new doctrine is of which you speak?For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean.”

Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate,“ Do not write,‘ The King of the Jews,’ but,‘ He said,“ I am the King of the Jews.”’”Pilate answered,“ What I have written, I have written.”

said to them,“ You have brought this Man to me, as one who misleads the people. And indeed, having examined Him in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him;no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him.I will therefore chastise Him and release Him”
