Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault[ at all].

彼拉多曰、真理何也、言竟、復出就猶太人、謂之曰、我不見此人有罪、

比辣多應曰：『何謂真理？』言竟復出、而告猶太人曰：『吾未見其罪也。

“ What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said,“ I find no basis for a charge against him.

“ What is truth?” Pilate replied. Then Pilate went out again to the Jews gathered there. He said,“ I find no basis for any charge against him.

Pilate* said to Him,“ What is truth?” And after saying this, he came out again to the Jews and* said to them,“ I find no grounds at all for charges in His case.

Pilate said to Him,“ What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them,“ I find no fault in Him at all.

Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find no crime in him.

“ What is truth?” said Pilate. After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them,“ I find no grounds for charging Him.

Pilate asked,“ What is truth?” When he had said this he went back outside to the Jewish leaders and announced,“ I find no basis for an accusation against him.

Pilate said to him,“ What is truth?” When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them,“ I find no basis for a charge against him.

Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify[ him], crucify[ him]. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify[ him]: for I find no fault in him.

Then said Pilate to the chief priests and[ to] the people, I find no fault in this man.

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed[ himself] to him that judgeth righteously:

When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but[ that] rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed[ his] hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye[ to it].

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this[ matter].

Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest,[ is]?For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined[ him] before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.I will therefore chastise him, and release[ him].
