彼拉多又出来对众人说：“我带他出来见你们，叫你们知道我查不出他有什么罪来。”

祭司长和差役看见他，就喊着说：“钉他十字架！钉他十字架！”彼拉多说：“你们自己把他钉十字架吧！我查不出他有什么罪来。”

彼拉多对祭司长和众人说：“我查不出这人有什么罪来。”

他并没有犯罪，口里也没有诡诈。他被骂不还口；受害不说威吓的话，只将自己交托那按公义审判人的主。

彼拉多见说也无济于事，反要生乱，就拿水在众人面前洗手，说：“流这义人的血，罪不在我，你们承当吧。”

乃是凭着基督的宝血，如同无瑕疵、无玷污的羔羊之血。

巡抚原知道他们是因为嫉妒才把他解了来。正坐堂的时候，他的夫人打发人来说：“这义人的事，你一点不可管，因为我今天在梦中为他受了许多的苦。”

保罗讲论公义、节制，和将来的审判。腓力斯甚觉恐惧，说：“你暂且去吧，等我得便再叫你来。”腓力斯又指望保罗送他银钱，所以屡次叫他来，和他谈论。

众人听见从死里复活的话，就有讥诮他的；又有人说：“我们再听你讲这个吧！”

彼拉多说：“为什么呢？他做了什么恶事呢？”他们便极力地喊着说：“把他钉十字架！”

他们就把他带到亚略巴古，说：“你所讲的这新道，我们也可以知道吗？因为你有些奇怪的事传到我们耳中，我们愿意知道这些事是什么意思。”（

犹太人的祭司长就对彼拉多说：“不要写‘犹太人的王’，要写‘他自己说：我是犹太人的王’。”彼拉多说：“我所写的，我已经写上了。”

就对他们说：“你们解这人到我这里，说他是诱惑百姓的。看哪，我也曾将你们告他的事，在你们面前审问他，并没有查出他什么罪来；就是希律也是如此，所以把他送回来。可见他没有做什么该死的事。故此，我要责打他，把他释放了。”
