彼拉多再次出来对犹太人说：“看！我把他带出来给你们，是要你们知道，我查不出他有什么罪。”

祭司长们和差役们一看见耶稣，就喊叫说：“钉上十字架！钉上十字架！”彼拉多对他们说：“你们自己把他带走钉上十字架！要知道，我查不出他有罪。”

彼拉多对祭司长们和众人说：“我查不出这个人有什么罪。”

他没有犯过罪，在他口中也找不出诡诈；他被辱骂的时候，不还口；受苦害的时候，不说威吓的话，而是把自己交托给以公义施行审判的那一位。

彼拉多知道自己无济于事，反而骚乱倒要发生，就拿水在众人面前洗手，说：“流这人的血，罪不在我，你们自己看着办吧！”

而是凭着那像羔羊一样毫无瑕疵、毫无玷污的基督宝血。

其实彼拉多知道他们是出于嫉妒才把耶稣交给他的。彼拉多正坐在审判席上，他的妻子派人到他那里说：“这义人的事，你什么也不要管。要知道，我今天因他的缘故，在梦中受了很多苦。”

当保罗讲论关于公义、自制和将来的审判时，菲利克斯感到害怕，就说：“你现在可以回去，我有了时间，就会叫你。”同时他也希望保罗送他钱，所以经常把他叫来，和他交谈。

他们听到死人复活的事，虽然有些人嘲笑他，但有些人却说：“关于此事，我们还要再听你说！”

彼拉多对他们说：“他到底做了什么恶事呢？”但他们却越发喊叫：“把他钉上十字架！”

他们就拉住保罗，带他到亚略巴古，问他：“你所讲论的这新教导，我们可以知道吗？既然你带来了一些奇怪的事，传到我们耳中，那么我们想知道这些事到底是什么意思。”

犹太人的祭司长们对彼拉多说：“请不要写‘犹太人的王’，而要写‘这个人说：我是犹太人的王。’”彼拉多回答：“我所写的，我已经写了。”

对他们说：“你们把这个人带到我这里来，说他是误导民众造反的。看，我已经当着你们的面审问了他，在他身上却一点也查不出你们所控告的罪。其实希律也查不出来，所以把他送回给我们。看，他没有做过什么该死的事。因此，惩罚了以后，我要释放他。”
