Pilate answered,“ I am not a Jew, am I? Your own people and your chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?”

“ I’m not a Jew, am I?” Pilate replied.“ Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?”

Pilate answered,“ I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed You over to me; what have You done?”

Pilate answered,“ Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”

Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

“ I’m not a Jew, am I?” Pilate replied.“ Your own nation and the chief priests handed You over to me. What have You done?”

Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

Pilate answered,“ I’m not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?”

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected in the presence of Pilate after he had decided to release him.

Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas to the Roman governor’s residence.( Now it was very early morning.) They did not go into the governor’s residence so they would not be ceremonially defiled, but could eat the Passover meal.

Then you’re not that Egyptian who started a rebellion and led the four thousand men of the‘ Assassins’ into the wilderness some time ago?”

and in the presence of his colleagues and the army of Samaria he said,“ What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they be left to themselves? Will they again offer sacrifice? Will they finish this in a day? Can they bring these burnt stones to life again from piles of dust?”

Rather they had several points of disagreement with him about their own religion and about a man named Jesus who was dead, whom Paul claimed to be alive.Because I was at a loss how I could investigate these matters, I asked if he were willing to go to Jerusalem and be tried there on these charges.

Jesus replied,“ You would have no authority over me at all, unless it was given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of greater sin.”

But just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews,“ If it were a matter of some crime or serious piece of villainy, I would have been justified in accepting the complaint of you Jews,but since it concerns points of disagreement about words and names and your own law, settle it yourselves. I will not be a judge of these things!”Then he had them forced away from the judgment seat.

Therefore what advantage does the Jew have, or what is the value of circumcision?Actually, there are many advantages. First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God.

The crowd was listening to him until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted,“ Away with this man from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live!”While they were screaming and throwing off their cloaks and tossing dust in the air,the commanding officer ordered Paul to be brought back into the barracks. He told them to interrogate Paul by beating him with a lash so that he could find out the reason the crowd was shouting at Paul in this way.

I found he was accused with reference to controversial questions about their law, but no charge against him deserved death or imprisonment.

Now let the king be aware that the Jews who came up to us from you have gone to Jerusalem. They are rebuilding that rebellious and odious city. They are completing its walls and repairing its foundations.

When the chief priests and their officers saw him, they shouted out,“ Crucify him! Crucify him!” Pilate said,“ You take him and crucify him! Certainly I find no reason for an accusation against him!”
