比辣多曰：『爾曹可帶回、依爾律法自為處理。』猶太人對曰：『吾人無權處人以死。』

Pilate said,“ Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”“ But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected.

Pilate said,“ Take him yourselves. Judge him by your own law.”“ But we don’t have the right to put anyone to death,” they complained.

Pilate said to them,“ Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” The Jews said to him,“ It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death.”

Pilate told them,“ You take him and judge him according to your law.”“ It’s not legal for us to put anyone to death,” the Jews declared.

So Pilate said to them,“ Take Him yourselves, and judge Him according to your law.” The Jews said to him,“ We are not permitted to put anyone to death.”

Then Pilate said to them,“ You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him,“ It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

Pilate therefore said unto them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

So Pilate told them,“ Take Him yourselves and judge Him according to your law.”“ It’s not legal for us to put anyone to death,” the Jews declared.

Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

Pilate told them,“ Take him yourselves and pass judgment on him according to your own law!” The Jewish leaders replied,“ We cannot legally put anyone to death.”

Pilate therefore said to them,“ Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him,“ It is illegal for us to put anyone to death,”

When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting,“ Crucify him! Crucify him!”“ Take him yourselves and crucify him,” Pilate said.“ I find him not guilty.”The Jewish leaders replied,“ By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God.”

“ Away with him,” they yelled.“ Away with him! Crucify him!”“ What? Crucify your king?” Pilate asked.“ We have no king but Caesar,” the leading priests shouted back.

But the accusations made against him weren’t any of the crimes I expected.Instead, it was something about their religion and a dead man named Jesus, who Paul insists is alive.I was at a loss to know how to investigate these things, so I asked him whether he would be willing to stand trial on these charges in Jerusalem.

This shows that Israel will go a long time without a king or prince, and without sacrifices, sacred pillars, priests, or even idols!But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God and to David’s descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness.

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from his descendants, until the coming of the one to whom it belongs, the one whom all nations will honor.

This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ Take off your jeweled crown, for the old order changes. Now the lowly will be exalted, and the mighty will be brought down.Destruction! Destruction! I will surely destroy the kingdom. And it will not be restored until the one appears who has the right to judge it. Then I will hand it over to him.
