And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him,“ Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”And he went out and wept bitterly.

But he began to curse himself and to swear,“ I do not know this man of whom you speak!”And immediately a rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had made the remark to him,“ Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And he hurried on and began to weep.

And Jesus* said to him,“ Truly I say to you, that this very night, before a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.”

Jesus said to him,“ Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

Then he began to curse and swear,“ I do not know the man!” And immediately a rooster crowed.And Peter remembered the statement that Jesus had made:“ Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

But he denied it, saying,“ I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.” And he went out onto the porch.

But He said,“ I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”
