Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself, they asked him again,“ You’re not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ No, I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You are not one of His disciples as well, are you?” He denied it, and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him,“ You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not!”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.

After a little while, someone else saw him and said,“ You’re one of them too.”“ Man, I am not!” Peter said.About an hour later, another kept insisting,“ This man was certainly with him, since he’s also a Galilean.”But Peter said,“ Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.Then the Lord turned and looked at Peter. So Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him,“ Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”And he went outside and wept bitterly.

The fear of mankind is a snare, but the one who trusts in the LORD is protected.

When he had gone out to the gateway, another woman saw him and told those who were there,“ This man was with Jesus the Nazarene!”And again he denied it with an oath:“ I don’t know the man!”After a little while those standing there approached and said to Peter,“ You really are one of them, since even your accent gives you away.”Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath,“ I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed,and Peter remembered the words Jesus had spoken,“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Then the servant girl who was the doorkeeper said to Peter,“ You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?”“ I am not,” he said.Now the servants and the officials had made a charcoal fire, because it was cold. They were standing there warming themselves, and Peter was standing with them, warming himself.

But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face because he stood condemned.For he regularly ate with the Gentiles before certain men came from James. However, when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, because he feared those from the circumcision party.Then the rest of the Jews joined his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

When a servant saw him sitting in the light, and looked closely at him, she said,“ This man was with him too.”

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant girl approached him and said,“ You were with Jesus the Galilean too.”

Then he came and found them sleeping. He said to Peter,“ Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake one hour?Stay awake and pray so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Sarah denied it.“ I did not laugh,” she said, because she was afraid. But he replied,“ No, you did laugh.”

When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said,“ You also were with Jesus, the man from Nazareth.”But he denied it:“ I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about.” Then he went out to the entryway, and a rooster crowed.When the maidservant saw him again, she began to tell those standing nearby,“ This man is one of them.”But again he denied it. After a little while those standing there said to Peter again,“ You certainly are one of them, since you’re also a Galilean.”Then he started to curse and swear,“ I don’t know this man you’re talking about!”Immediately a rooster crowed a second time, and Peter remembered when Jesus had spoken the word to him,“ Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.
