Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself by the fire. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of Jesus’ disciples too, are you?” He said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You also are not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself, they asked him again,“ You’re not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ No, I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You are not one of His disciples as well, are you?” He denied it, and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him,“ You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not!”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him,“ You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

不久，另一個人看見他，就說：“你也是他們中間的一個。”彼得說：“你這個人，我不是。”大約過了一小時，又有一個人肯定地說：“這人真是和他一夥的，因為他也是加利利人。”彼得說：“你這個人，我不知道你說的是甚麼！”他還在說話的時候，雞就叫了。主轉過身來看彼得，彼得就想起主對他說過的話：“今天雞叫以前，你要三次說不認得我。”他就出去痛哭。

懼怕人的，必陷入網羅；倚靠耶和華的，必得安全。

他出到門口，又有一個婢女看見他，就對那裡的人說：“這人是和拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。”彼得再次否認，並且發誓說：“我不認識那個人。”過了一會，站在那裡的人前來對他說：“你的確是他們中間的一個，因為一聽你的口音就認出來了。”彼得就發咒起誓說：“我不認識那一個人。”立刻雞就叫了。彼得想起耶穌所說的話：“雞叫以前，你會三次不認我”，他就出去痛哭。

那看門的婢女對彼得說：“你不也是這個人的門徒嗎？”他說：“我不是。”因為天氣寒冷，僕人和差役就生了炭火，站著取暖；彼得也和他們站在一起取暖。

可是，磯法到了安提阿的時候，因為他有該責備的地方，我就當面反對他。從雅各那裡來的人還沒有到以前，他和外族人一同吃飯；但他們來到了，他因為怕那些守割禮的人，就從外族人中退出來，和他們分開。其餘的猶太人也和他一同裝假，甚至連巴拿巴也受了影響，跟著他們裝假。

有一個使女，見他面向火光坐著，就注視他，說：“這人是和他一夥的。”

彼得坐在外面的院子裡，有一個婢女走過來對他說：“你也是和加利利人耶穌一夥的。”

耶穌回來，看見門徒睡著了，就對彼得說：“西門，你睡覺嗎？你連一個小時也不能警醒嗎？應當警醒、禱告，免得陷入試探；你們心靈雖然願意，肉體卻是軟弱的。”

撒拉害怕起來，就否認，說：“我沒有笑。”但那位說：“不，你實在笑了。”

看見彼得烤火，就瞪著他說：“你也是和拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的！”彼得卻否認說：“我不知道，也不明白你在說甚麼！”他就走出去，到了前院，雞就叫了（有些抄本無“雞就叫了”一句）。那婢女看見他，又對站在旁邊的人說：“這個人也是他們一夥的。”彼得還是不承認。過了一會，站在旁邊的人也對彼得說：“你真是他們一夥的，因為你也是加利利人。”彼得就發咒起誓說：“我不認得你們說的這個人！”立刻雞就叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶穌對他說過的話：“雞叫兩遍以前，你要三次不認我。”他一想起來，就哭了（“他一想起來，就哭了”或譯：“他就奪步而出，痛哭起來”）。
