Jesus replied,“ Everyone knows what I teach. I have preached regularly in the synagogues and the Temple, where the people gather. I have not spoken in secret.

耶稣说：“我是公开对世人讲的，我常在犹太人聚集的会堂和圣殿教导人，没有在背地里讲过什么。

耶稣对大祭司说：“我向来对世人讲话都是公开的，我常常在会堂和圣殿里，就是在所有犹太人聚集的地方教导人，暗地里我并没有讲什么。

耶稣回答他：“我一向公开地对世人讲话。我总是在会堂和圣殿，就是所有犹太人聚集的地方教导人。我没有在隐秘中讲过什么。

耶穌回答他：「我一向公開地對世人講話。我總是在會堂和聖殿，就是所有猶太人聚集的地方教導人。我沒有在隱祕中講過什麼。

耶穌曰、我明言於世、恆訓於會堂、及殿間、即猶太人咸集之處、隱中則無所言、

耶穌曰、我於世既明示之矣、我常誨於會堂殿間、猶太人恆集之處、我無私語、

耶穌答曰、我顯然講道於世、常教誨在會堂、及聖殿、猶太人恆集之所、我並無言於隱者、

耶穌對曰：『予向公開言論、施訓會堂聖殿中、此皆猶太人會集之所、未嘗言之於隱、

“ I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied.“ I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.

“ I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus answered him.“ I have always taught in the synagogue and in the temple complex, where all the Jews congregate, and I haven’t spoken anything in secret.

Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

Jesus replied,“ I have spoken publicly to the world. I always taught in the synagogues and in the temple courts, where all the Jewish people assemble together. I have said nothing in secret.

Jesus answered him,“ I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.

But here he is, speaking in public, and they say nothing to him. Could our leaders possibly believe that he is the Messiah?

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

Come closer, and listen to this. From the beginning I have told you plainly what would happen.” And now the Sovereign Lord and his Spirit have sent me with this message.

I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.

Then Jesus said to the crowd,“ Am I some dangerous revolutionary, that you come with swords and clubs to arrest me? Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there teaching every day.

“ So if someone tells you,‘ Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or,‘ Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it!

I have much to say about you and much to condemn, but I won’t. For I say only what I have heard from the one who sent me, and he is completely truthful.”

Every day Jesus went to the Temple to teach, and each evening he returned to spend the night on the Mount of Olives.

but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them.

He was in the Temple, walking through the section known as Solomon’s Colonnade.The people surrounded him and asked,“ How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”Jesus replied,“ I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name.But you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep.My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me,for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.The Father and I are one.”Once again the people picked up stones to kill him.Jesus said,“ At my Father’s direction I have done many good works. For which one are you going to stone me?”They replied,“ We’re stoning you not for any good work, but for blasphemy! You, a mere man, claim to be God.”Jesus replied,“ It is written in your own Scriptures that God said to certain leaders of the people,‘ I say, you are gods!’And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. So if those people who received God’s message were called‘ gods,’why do you call it blasphemy when I say,‘ I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world.Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work.But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”Once again they tried to arrest him, but he got away and left them.

While Jesus was teaching in the Temple, he called out,“ Yes, you know me, and you know where I come from. But I’m not here on my own. The one who sent me is true, and you don’t know him.

I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.

Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices.He said to them,“ The Scriptures declare,‘ My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him.

One day as Jesus was teaching the people and preaching the Good News in the Temple, the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders came up to him.They demanded,“ By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?”“ Let me ask you a question first,” he replied.“ Did John’s authority to baptize come from heaven, or was it merely human?”They talked it over among themselves.“ If we say it was from heaven, he will ask why we didn’t believe John.But if we say it was merely human, the people will stone us because they are convinced John was a prophet.”So they finally replied that they didn’t know.And Jesus responded,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

Then, midway through the festival, Jesus went up to the Temple and began to teach.

And King Agrippa knows about these things. I speak boldly, for I am sure these events are all familiar to him, for they were not done in a corner!

You can’t become famous if you hide like this! If you can do such wonderful things, show yourself to the world!”

He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.

I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O Lord, well know.

Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror and said,“ Blasphemy! Why do we need other witnesses? You have all heard his blasphemy.

When Jesus returned to the Temple and began teaching, the leading priests and elders came up to him. They demanded,“ By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?”“ I’ll tell you by what authority I do these things if you answer one question,” Jesus replied.“ Did John’s authority to baptize come from heaven, or was it merely human?” They talked it over among themselves.“ If we say it was from heaven, he will ask us why we didn’t believe John.But if we say it was merely human, we’ll be mobbed because the people believe John was a prophet.”So they finally replied,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus responded,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.
