Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,

彼得從遠處跟着耶穌，直到大祭司的院子；進到裏面，就同差役坐着，要看結局怎樣。祭司長和全議院直尋假見證告耶穌，好治死他；卻找不着，雖則有許多假證人上前來。後來有兩個人上前來，說：『這個人曾經說過：「我能拆毁上帝的殿堂，三日之間把它建造起來。」』大祭司就站起來，對耶穌說：『你甚麼都不回答；這些人作見證告你甚麼呢？』耶穌卻不作聲。大祭司對他說：『我指着永活的上帝誓囑你，告訴我們，你是上帝的兒子、上帝所膏立者不是。』耶穌對他說：『你說的是；然而我告訴你們，你們這就要看見人子坐在「權能」的右邊了，還要駕着天雲來臨呢。』祭司長就撕開衣裳說：『他說了僭妄的話了；我們還需要見證人麼？你看，如今你們聽見僭妄的話了；你們以為怎樣？』他們回答說：『他應該死。』便吐唾沬在他臉上，用拳頭打他；有人給他一個耳刮子，說：『基督啊，對我們說豫言吧！打你的是誰？』

那時祭司長和民間的長老聚集在稱為該亞法的大祭司院子裏，
