予既以吾父聖道授之、而世乃疾之如讎、以其不屬乎世、正如予之不屬乎世也。

吾儕今知子實洞察萬事、無待人問；以此吾信子乃來自天主。』

蓋父實躬自愛爾、以爾愛予、且信予出自父故。

今而後予不稱爾為僕、僕不知其主之所為也。吾稱爾為友者、蓋凡吾所聞於吾父者、悉以示爾矣。

願彼眾能翕然合而為一；正如吾父體予、予體吾父、願彼眾亦能仰體吾儕、而融為一體、庶幾世人信父實曾遣予。

耶穌乃謂十二子曰：『汝等亦欲引退乎？』

且爾等一聞吾儕口授之天主福音、不以其為世俗之教、乃審知其實為天主聖道、而欣然納之。故聖道亦緣爾之篤信、而運其妙工於爾身；此尤吾儕之所引以為慰、而感謝天主不能自已者也。

恩澤所被、或為宗徒。或為先知、或傳福音、或充監牧、師傅、異曲同工、皆為作育聖徒、供役教會、建成基督之體、

蓋吾言非由己出、乃遣予之父以所當言、所當傳者、命予言之傳之耳。

蓋天主遣子入世非以判世、乃以濟世。

夫吾所授於爾者、乃吾所受於主也。主耶穌於被逮之夕、取餅、

予體彼、而父體予、務使彼眾精誠團結、化成一體、庶幾世人知父確曾遣予、且知父愛吾徒、一如愛予。

吾茲欲為爾重述福音之道；此福音、即吾嚮者所授爾嚮者所受、至今猶賴以立焉。

天主為爾等之益、授我以宣恩萬邦之重寄、爾等諒有所聞也。我蒙特達之啟示、得悉天主奧旨；此於本書前段、已約略述及、爾等讀之、即可見吾於基督之玄妙、實有所悟矣。自有世以來、斯玄妙之旨、未曾啟迪於人。今則已因聖神而明示其諸聖宗徒、及先知先覺之人矣。斯旨無他、即因福音之傳、而萬邦之人、已得於基督耶穌庇蔭之下、同為嗣子、融成一體、共享恩諾是已。天主運用其大能、賜我恩寵、令我得供役於福音。夫我乃諸聖中之至微者、竟亦蒙此殊恩、得在異邦人中弘宣基督不可思議之厚澤、

耶穌曰：『天國之蘊奧、賜爾知之、不賜若輩；

耶穌曰：『倘天主真為爾父、則宜愛予矣。蓋予之來、乃出自天主、非予自來、有遣之者也。

兄弟乎、曩者吾儕示爾應如何立身處世、以慰悅天主；爾已拳拳服膺。茲復因主耶穌、奉勸兄弟、發憤加勉、勇猛精進。

正如父之遣予入世、予茲亦遣之入世。

爾豈不信予之在父、父之在予乎？予所授爾之訓、非予自言之也、實父寓於予、躬行其道耳。

且吾人亦知聖父曾遣其聖子為救世主、此則吾人所親睹而可作證者也。

苟有納其證者、是即印證天主之真實無妄。

公義之父乎！世不識父、予則識父、而斯輩亦識父之遣予也。父之聖名、予已示之、今後復將示之、使父之所以愛予之愛、得存留於彼等、而予亦得恆寓於彼等焉。』

凡父所拔於世而賜於予之人、予已以父名示之。若輩本屬於父、而父以之賜予、其人皆服膺父之慈訓、且已領悟凡予所受、莫非自父。
