“ I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

爾自世予我之人、我已以爾名示之、彼原屬爾、爾以予我、而彼已守爾道也、

爾所賜我出乎世者、我以爾名示之、既為爾之人、爾以賜我、其亦守爾道、

爾由世所選而賜我者、我已以爾名示之、彼固屬爾、爾以之賜我、彼已守爾言、

凡父所拔於世而賜於予之人、予已以父名示之。若輩本屬於父、而父以之賜予、其人皆服膺父之慈訓、

“ I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.

“ I have shown you to the disciples you gave me out of the world. They were yours. You gave them to me. And they have obeyed your word.

“ I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

“ I have revealed your name to the people you gave me from the world. They were yours, you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

“ I have revealed Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have followed Your word.

“ I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.

I have revealed Your name to the men You gave Me from the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

“ I have revealed your name to the men you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word.

I revealed your name to the people whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me. They have kept your word.

I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.

Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”Judas( not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him,“ Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?”Jesus replied,“ All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me.

For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.

But Moses protested,“ If I go to the people of Israel and tell them,‘ The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me,‘ What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?”God replied to Moses,“ I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob— has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.

Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and he called out his own name, Yahweh.The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out,“ Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.”

Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.

I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.

“ I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.

The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me,for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ— which is to fulfill his own good plan.And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ— everything in heaven and on earth.Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation— a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“ I know that you live in the city where Satan has his throne, yet you have remained loyal to me. You refused to deny me even when Antipas, my faithful witness, was martyred among you there in Satan’s city.

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.

Get the truth and never sell it; also get wisdom, discipline, and good judgment.

You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.

And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

For he said to God,“ I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.”

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me— a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus.

No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning. Do you realize what the Scriptures say about this? Elijah the prophet complained to God about the people of Israel and said,

But I have spared you for a purpose— to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth.

At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said,“ O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

They do not belong to this world any more than I do.

For God, who said,“ Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

“ My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you.All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory.Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are.

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.

Father, bring glory to your name.” Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying,“ I have already brought glory to my name, and I will do so again.”

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer:“ O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

He did this to fulfill his own statement:“ I did not lose a single one of those you have given me.”

But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.

Jesus said to the people who believed in him,“ You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.

O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do.Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens. You have done such wonderful things. Who can compare with you, O God?

My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart.If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.

When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers.
