他出去以後，耶穌就說：“現在人子得了榮耀，神也在人子身上得了榮耀，（神既然在人子身上得了榮耀，）（有些抄本無此句）也要在自己身上榮耀人子，並且要立刻榮耀他。

我在地上已經榮耀了你，你交給我要作的工，我已經完成了。父啊，現在讓我在你自己面前得著榮耀，就是在創世以前我與你同享的榮耀。

因此神把他升為至高，並且賜給他超過萬名之上的名。使天上、地上和地底下的一切，因著耶穌的名，都要屈膝，並且口裡承認耶穌基督為主，使榮耀歸給父神。

耶穌對他們說：“人子得榮耀的時候到了！

亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的神，就是我們祖宗的神，榮耀了他的僕人耶穌。這位耶穌，你們把他送交官府。彼拉多本來定意要放他，你們卻當著彼拉多的面拒絕他。

他這話是指著信他的人要接受聖靈說的；那時聖靈還沒有降臨，因為耶穌還沒有得著榮耀。

看哪，時候要到，而且已經到了，你們要分散，各人到自己的地方去，只留下我獨自一個人。其實我不是獨自一個人，因為有父與我同在。

於是他們把石頭挪開。耶穌舉目向天，說：“父啊，我感謝你，因為你垂聽了我，

耶穌聽見，就說：“這病不至於死，而是為了神的榮耀，使神的兒子因此得到榮耀。”

藉著他，你們信那使他從死人中復活、又給他榮耀的神，叫你們的信心和盼望都在於神。

“我現在心裡煩亂，我應該說甚麼呢？說‘父啊，救我脫離這時刻’嗎？然而我正是為了這個緣故來的，要面對這時刻。父啊，願你榮耀你的名！”當時有聲音從天上來，說：“我已經榮耀了我的名，還要再榮耀。”

耶穌第三次回來，對他們說：“你們還在睡覺休息嗎？夠了，時候到了，看哪，人子要被交在罪人手裡了。

我天天跟你們在殿裡，你們不向我下手；但現在是你們的時候了，也是黑暗掌權的時候了。”

這些話是耶穌在殿裡教導人的時候，在銀庫的院中說的。當時沒有人逮捕他，因為他的時候還沒有到。

逾越節以前，耶穌知道自己離開這世界回到父那裡去的時候到了。他既然愛世上屬於自己的人，就愛他們到底。

於是他們想逮捕他，只是沒有人下手，因為他的時候還沒有到。
