Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

“ But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?

You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, Even from the rebellious, That the Lord God might dwell there.

nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.”Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Then Peter opened his mouth and said:“ In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.

Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

You have heard Me say to you,‘ I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said,‘ I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father,“ which,” He said,“ you have heard from Me;for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Therefore He says:“ When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”( Now this,“ He ascended”— what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.”

But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land;
