只因我将这事告诉你们，你们就满心忧愁。

Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things.

Instead, you are filled with sadness because I have said these things.

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you.

Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

But because I have said these things to you, grief has filled your heart.

But because I have spoken these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. (niv)

He asked them,“ What are you discussing together as you walk along?” They stood still, their faces downcast. (niv)

Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomband saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.They asked her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ They have taken my Lord away,” she said,“ and I don’t know where they have put him.”At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.He asked her,“ Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said,“ Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” (niv)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.“ You heard me say,‘ I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. (niv)

When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. (niv)
