But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.This is why it says:“ When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”( What does“ he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, (niv)

I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. (niv)

I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” (niv)

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; (niv)

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (niv)
