三問曰：『若納子西門、汝果慕我乎？』伯鐸祿因三次見問、不覺愀然曰：『主乎、爾固無所不知、當知吾之慕爾矣。』主曰：『飼吾羊！

凡屬受造之物、莫不在天主明鑒之下、腑肺盡露；吾人皆向渠負責、固無所逃於天地間也。

父所授予之訓、悉已授諸若輩、而若輩亦已領受、且體認予之出於吾父、而恪信父之實曾遣予矣。

蓋父實躬自愛爾、以爾愛予、且信予出自父故。予出於父、而入於世、今則離世而復歸於父。』

蓋父之所行、子亦行焉。父篤愛其子、凡其所行、悉以示之；其所示者將有更大於斯者、爾將不勝駭異矣。

門徒乃相語曰：『師曰：「瞬息之間、不得睹予、復一瞬息、又得見予、」又言「予今歸父」者、果何謂耶？』
