人正說平安穩妥的時候，就在那時、突來的死滅就臨到他們了——正如產難臨到懷孕的婦人一樣——他們斷不能逃脫。

他們都要驚惶失措。疼痛和劇疼必將他們抓住；他們必翻騰絞痛、像生產的婦人一樣；他們相顧駭愕，臉上都顯着劇疼的氣色。

對那女人呢，永恆主上帝也說：『我必定增多你懷孕的疼痛；你必在疼痛中生兒女；你必戀慕你丈夫；你丈夫必管轄你。』

因為經上記着說：『你這不能生育、沒有生產過的啊，你歡樂哦！你這沒受過產難的啊，你突破靜寂而呼喊哦？因為淒涼獨居的婦人、比有丈夫的、兒女還多。』

他使不能生育的婦人安居家中，做許多兒女的快樂母親。哈利路亞！

生產的疼痛必臨到他身上，但他是個毫無智慧之子；到了產期他還是遲延於子宮口。我必贖救他們脫離陰間的權勢；我必贖回他們脫離死亡。死亡啊，你的災害在哪裏？陰間哪，你的毁滅在哪裏？我看不到須改變心意呀。

撒拉說：『上帝使我喜笑；凡聽見的也必為了我而喜笑。』又說：『誰能對亞伯拉罕說，撒拉要乳養兒女呢？在他年老的時候、我竟給他生了一個兒子！』

拉結懷孕生子，就說：『上帝把我的恥辱收拾掉了』；於是她給孩子起名叫約瑟，說：『永恆主把另一個兒子增添給我。』

永恆主啊，我們在急難中探求了你；你的懲罰臨到我們身上時，我們傾吐了低聲的禱告。像婦人懷着孕，臨產時翻騰絞痛，在劇疼中喊叫；永恆主啊，我們在你面前也是如此：我們也曾懷着孕，翻騰絞痛，竟彷彿是生了風；我們未曾在地上施行任何拯救的事；也沒有世人由我們而生下來。

錫安小姐啊，絞痛而衝出、像生產的婦人吧！因為你如今快要從這都市出來，住在野外，去到巴比倫；在那裏你必得援救，在那裏永恆主必贖回你脫離你仇敵的手掌。

婦人說：『哦，我主啊，我敢指着我主的性命來起誓，從前在這裏站在你旁邊、向永恆主祈禱的那婦人就是我。我祈禱讓我得這孩子，永恆主已將我向他求的賜給我了。

她懷着孕；產難發作、要生產正苦痛的時候就喊叫着。另有個迹象在天上現出來：有一條大紅龍有七個頭十個角；那七個頭戴着七個冠冕；牠的尾巴拖着天上星辰的三分之一，摔在地上。龍站在那將要生產的婦人面前，等她生產了、要吞喫她的孩子。那婦人產生了一個男兒、就是將來要用鐵杖管轄列國的。但她的孩子卻被攫到上帝面前、上帝寶座那裏。

以利沙伯產期既到，就生了一個兒子。她的鄰里親戚聽見主向她大施憐憫，就和她一同歡喜。
