撒拉说：“神使我欢笑，所有听见的人也必与我一同欢笑。”她又说：“当年会有人对亚伯拉罕说‘撒拉将乳养孩子’吗？我竟然在他年老的时候，为他生了一个儿子。”

她怀了孕；后来在临产的阵痛和分娩的折磨中喊叫起来。随后，天上出现了另一个征兆：看哪，一条火红色的巨龙，有七个头和十只角，七个头上戴着七个王冠。它的尾巴拖着天上星辰的三分之一，把它们摔在地上。这龙站在那快要生产的妇人面前，为要在她生产之后，吞吃她的孩子。那妇人生了一个男孩子，就是那位将要用铁杖治理万国的。可是这孩子被提到神和他的宝座那里。

伊莉莎白产期到了，生了一个儿子。她的邻居和亲戚听说主向她大施怜悯，就与她一同欢乐。
