So they kept on repeating,“ What is the meaning of what he says,‘ In a little while’? We do not understand what he is talking about.”

门徒彼此说：“他说‘等不多时’到底是什么意思呢？我们不明白他所说的话。”

于是门徒说：“他说‘不久’到底是什么意思呢？我们不明白他说什么。”

于是门徒说：“他说‘不久’到底是什么意思呢？我们不明白他说什么。”

祂说‘不久’是什么意思呢？我们真不明白！”

他们又说：“他所说的‘不久’，是什么意思呢？我们不晓得他在讲什么。”

他们又说：“他说的‘过一会儿’是什么意思呢？我们不明白他在说什么。”

門徒彼此說：「他說『等不多時』到底是甚麼意思呢？我們不明白他所說的話。」

於是門徒說：「他說『不久』到底是甚麼意思呢？我們不明白他說甚麼。」

於是門徒說：「他說『不久』到底是甚麼意思呢？我們不明白他說甚麼。」

祂說『不久』是什麼意思呢？我們真不明白！」

他們又說：“他所說的‘不久’，是甚麼意思呢？我們不曉得他在講甚麼。”

有人就說：『他說的這「一會兒」是甚麼意思、我們不曉得他講甚麼。』

他們又說：「他說的『過一會兒』是什麼意思呢？我們不明白他在說什麼。」

又曰、頃之云者、何也、我不知所謂也、

且頃之云者、果何意耶、我不知其所謂也、

門徒復曰、師云未幾、果何意、我不知其所謂也、

又曰：『所謂「瞬息之間」何謂耶？吾儕實不知其所云。』

They kept asking,“ What does he mean by‘ a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying.”

So they were saying,“ What is this that He says,‘ A little while’? We do not know what He is talking about.”

They said therefore,“ What is this that He says,‘ A little while’? We do not know what He is saying.”

They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? We know not what he saith.

They said,“ What is this He is saying,‘ A little while’? We don’t know what He’s talking about!”

They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

They said therefore,“ What is this that he says,‘ A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”

So he said to them,“ You foolish people– how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you took up?How could you not understand that I was not speaking to you about bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!”

For though you should in fact be teachers by this time, you need someone to teach you the beginning elements of God’s utterances. You have gone back to needing milk, not solid food.
