“ I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away.

予以此預告、庶幾來日爾等意志不致搖動。

“ All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.

“ I have told you all this so that you will not turn away from the truth.

“ I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.

“ I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith.

“ I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

“ These things I have spoken to you so that you will not be led into sin.

“ These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.

“ I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

“ I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.

and a stumbling- stone and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

But he has no root in himself and does not endure; when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away.

But I have told you these things so that when their time comes, you will remember that I told you about them.“ I did not tell you these things from the beginning because I was with you.

so that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ,

Then Jesus said to them,“ This night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written:‘ I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”Peter said to him,“ If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!”

Then many will be led into sin, and they will betray one another and hate one another.

It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

Blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”

“ If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me first.If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.Remember what I told you,‘ A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed my word, they will obey yours too.But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. But they no longer have any excuse for their sin.The one who hates me hates my Father too.If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.Now this happened to fulfill the word that is written in their law,‘ They hated me without reason.’When the Advocate comes, whom I will send you from the Father– the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father– he will testify about me,and you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

And so they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.”

I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete.
