“ I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

我以此語爾、免爾傾覆、

我以此告爾、免爾厭棄我、

我以此告爾、免爾因我躓蹶、

予以此預告、庶幾來日爾等意志不致搖動。

“ All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.

“ I have told you all this so that you will not turn away from the truth.

“ I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.

“ I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith.

“ I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

“ These things I have spoken to you so that you will not be led into sin.

“ These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

“ I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away.

“ I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.

and A stone to stumble over, and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the message; they were destined for this.

Yet he has no root in himself, but is short-lived. When pressure or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

But I have told you these things so that when their time comes you may remember I told them to you. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.

so that you can approve the things that are superior and can be pure and blameless in the day of Christ,

Then Jesus said to them,“ Tonight all of you will run away because of Me, for it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.But after I have been resurrected, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”Peter told Him,“ Even if everyone runs away because of You, I will never run away!”

Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another.

It is a noble thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother stumble.

And if anyone is not offended because of Me, he is blessed.”

“ If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me before it hated you.If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.Remember the word I spoke to you:‘ A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will also keep yours.But they will do all these things to you on account of My name, because they don’t know the One who sent Me.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin.The one who hates Me also hates My Father.If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not have sin. Now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father.But this happened so that the statement written in their scripture might be fulfilled: They hated Me for no reason.“ When the Counselor comes, the One I will send to you from the Father— the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father— He will testify about Me.You also will testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

And they were offended by Him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his household.”

“ I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
