这就像一块地，吸收了常常下在它上面的雨水，如果长出对种植的人有用的菜蔬，就从神那里得福。但如果这块地长出荆棘和蒺藜来，就被废弃，近于咒诅，结局就是焚烧。

所有属我而不结果子的枝子，他就剪去；所有结果子的，他就修剪干净，让它结更多的果子。

但这葡萄树因神的烈怒被拔起，摔在地上；东风使它的果子枯干散掉，粗壮的树枝枯槁，被火吞灭。现在它被栽种在旷野，在干旱无水之地。有火从树枝中的一根发出，吞灭树的果子，以致树上再没有粗壮的树枝，可以作掌权者的杖。’这是一首哀歌，是一首流行的哀歌。”

那时，人子要差派他的使者，把一切使人犯罪的事和不法之徒，从他的国中拔掉，

如果他们因为认识我们的主、救主耶稣基督，可以脱离世上的污秽，后来又在其中被缠住、受制伏，他们末了的景况，就比先前的更不好了。

现在斧头已经放在树根上，所有不结好果子的树，就砍下来，丢在火里。

人可以从葡萄树上取木料制造物件吗？可以从葡萄树上取木料做钉子挂器皿吗？看哪！已经抛在火里当作燃料，火既烧毁了两端，连中间也烧焦了，它还可以用来制造物件吗？看哪！它完整的时候，尚且不能用来制造物件，何况它被火烧毁和烧焦了，它还能用来做什么呢？”因此，主耶和华这样说：“我怎样把树林中的葡萄树抛在火里当作燃料，也必照样对待耶路撒冷的居民。我必变脸攻击他们；他们虽然从火里逃出来，火仍要吞灭他们；我变脸攻击他们的时候，你们就知道我是耶和华。

凡是名字没有记在生命册上的，他就被抛在火湖里。

他们从我们中间离去，这就表明他们是不属于我们的。其实他们并不属于我们，如果真的属于我们，就一定会留在我们中间。

你要说：‘主耶和华这样说：这葡萄树怎能茂盛呢？鹰不是要拔出它的根来，啄光它的果子，使它和它长出的一切嫩叶都枯干吗？其实，要把它连根拔起，并不需要很多人或很大的气力。

这些人胆敢与你们同席，他们只顾喂饱（“喂饱”或译：“牧养”）自己，是你们爱筵中的暗礁；是无雨的浮云，随风飘荡；是秋天不结果子的树，连根拔起，死而又死；是海中的狂浪，溅起了自己可耻的泡沫；是流荡的星，有漆黑的幽暗永远为他们存留。

只好恐惧地等待着审判，和那快要吞灭众仇敌的烈火。

眷顾你右手栽种的根，和你为自己培育的儿子。

但你要从你的坟墓中被逐出，好像一根被厌弃的树枝，你被那些遭刀剑所杀的人掩盖，就是那些被抛到坑中石头那里的人。你就像一具遭人践踏的尸体。

犹大把银子丢进圣所，然后离开，出去吊死了。

坚固的城变为凄凉，成了被撇下、被放弃的居所，像旷野一样；牛犊必在那里吃草，在那里躺卧，并且吃尽那里的树枝。

他不能离开黑暗，火焰必烧干他的嫩枝，他必因神口中的气而离去。

只是那些胆怯的、不信的、可憎的、杀人的、淫乱的、行邪术的、拜偶像的和所有说谎的人，他们的分是在烧着硫磺的火湖里。这就是第二次的死。”
